What WEOKIE Is Doing to Protect You

Our websites are secured using digital certificates and industry-standard encryption and time-sensitive session cookies in order to obtain personal information for member transactions. We only support browsers that can provide industry-accepted encryption protocols.

These protections ensure that you are actually dealing with WEOKIE, and not an imposter site impersonating us. Your connection to our websites uses Transport Layer Security (TLS) to protect the contents of the message from eavesdropping and interception.

We also keep your personal and account information secure through the following additional features

Automated time-out functionality logs out inactive sessions.
"Remember me" feature reduces the chance that a keylogger or other malicious software will capture your online credentials.
Restrictions on our mobile sites prevent a fraudster from taking your money if you leave your mobile device unattended.

What You Can Do to Protect Yourself

Our security measures are only a part of what it takes to make sure you're protected. It's your responsibility to use up-to-date software, and to enable security features such as anti-virus, anti-malware, and only connect from trusted networks. Your computer's browser communicates with our computer, systems and websites.

1-MONITOR YOUR ACCOUNTS REGULARLY

Frequently Update Your Browser

You will need to update your web browser periodically to ensure that your interactions with not only the WEOKIE website but others are safe and secure—and to ensure an optimal experience. We recommend using the most up-to-date version of your web browser.

Setup Your Security Preferences in Online Banking

You can set your account security preferences any time in online banking. We use these security options to verify your identity.

3-SET UP FRAUD ALERTS WITH CREDIT BUREAUS

Account Monitoring

It's a good idea to regularly monitor debit and credit transactions. You can sign up for transaction alerts for all of your banking accounts and credit cards. Setting up alerts in online banking is quick and easy – just click on Profile and go to Mange Alerts.

WEOKIE’s Free Credit Score is a FREE service that provides ongoing credit score access, monitors your credit report for key changes and alerts all through your Online Banking account.

Verification Callback

As part of our Automated Debit Card Risk Management Program, we monitor your ATM and debit card transactions for signs of fraud, such as sudden location changes, unusual spending, or global fraud trends.

If we suspect fraud, we’ll call, email, or text you to confirm recent transactions. Responding promptly is essential to minimize risks and avoid card restrictions.

Here’s what to expect:

An automated call, email, or text will ask you to verify transactions.
A toll-free number will be provided for further questions.

Your 2-Step Verification Process

Two-factor authentication (2FA) requires a secondary verification method through a separate communication channel. 2FA improves cybersecurity because it makes hacking an account more difficult due to two separate channels that would need to be simultaneously compromised for an attacker to gain access.

We provide this security through the following features:

Advanced mobile authentication
Challenge questions
Login defense
Advanced mobile authentication

General Good Safety Practices

PC Security

Think of your computer as the digital gateway to your financial life—it needs strong locks and regular maintenance. Follow these proven security measures to keep hackers and malware from compromising your personal information.

Here’s what you can do:

Maintain up-to-date antivirus protection provided by a reputable vendor.
Schedule regular scans or your computer.
Update your software frequently to ensure you have the latest security patches.
If you suspect your computer is infected with malware, discontinue using it for banking, shopping or other activities involving sensitive information.
Use firewalls on your local networks to add another layer of protection for all the devices that connect through the firewall.
Require a password to gain access. Log off or lock your computer when not in use.

Mobile Device Security

Mobile devices go everywhere with us, increasing the risk of loss, theft, or unauthorized access to your accounts. These simple security steps help ensure your financial information stays protected, even if your phone falls into the wrong hands.

Follow these tips to stay safe:

Make sure you have a password setup to gain access into your device.
Avoid storing sensitive information on your mobile device, in the event that it gets lost or stolen.
Keep your mobile device’s software up-to-date.
Always do a “hard factory reset” to permanently erase all content before getting rid of your current device.
Sign out or log off when finished with an app, rather than just closing it.
Utilize antivirus software where applicable.

Strong Password Recommendations

8-32 characters long
One upper case letter
One lower case letter
Use the longest password you're comfortable using, password length adds significant security with every additional character. We recommend a minimum of 16 characters.
Either a special character or number
Does not contain your user name, real name, special dates or company name
Does not contain a complete word
Is significantly different from previous passwords
Combine letters (upper and lower), numbers, special characters to create your password, trying to avoid dictionary words and predictable patterns.
As always, use unique passwords across Internet services, especially financial services.
Choose a password you can remember without writing it down. If you do choose to write it down, store it in a secure location.
