At WEOKIE, our volunteer Board of Directors plays a vital role in guiding the credit union's direction and ensuring the voice of our members is represented.
Meet Your Board of Directors Election Candidates
In accordance with the bylaws, the Nominating Committee has nominated three (3) candidates to fill three (3) three-year term vacancies. All nominees are incumbents: Tony Carl, Dennis March, and Leonard Wells.
Candidate Bios

Tony Carl
Tony Carl is currently employed with the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry on the Health Campus as the Director of Human Resources. Tony previously held the position of Customer Engagement Manager with American Fidelity Assurance and Human Resources Business Partner with the Hertz Corporation. Tony served on WEOKIE's Supervisory Committee as an Associate Director prior to being elected to WEOKIE's Board of Directors.

Dennis March
Dennis March is a retired Civil Servant who worked for the Department of Defense (DoD) for 20 years at Tinker Air Force Base. He served as the Lead Security Specialist for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center. Prior to that, he spent 21 years in active duty with the U.S. Air Force as a Security Police Officer. Dennis was a member of WEOKIE's Supervisory Committee before being appointed to the Board of Directors. He is also a member of the WEOKIE Foundation and currently serves as the Chairman of the Oklahoma Credit Union Political Action Committee.

Leonard Wells
Leonard Wells retired from Celestica after working in the accounting and auditing departments of both AT&T and Lucent. Leonard currently serves as a WEOKIE Board Member and has also served on WEOKIE's Supervisory Committee and on WEOKIE's Credit Committee from 1978 to 1985. Leonard is in his third five year term on Yukon Public School Board.
Nominations by Petition
WEOKIE will accept nominations by petition starting January 2, 2026, through 5:00PM on February 12, 2026. To qualify for placement on the ballot, a member must submit a petition signed by 500 members (representing 1% of WEOKIE's membership) and include a signed Statement of Intent. To request a petition form and Statement of Intent, please email Kathryn Boyd at kathrynb@weokie.org.
If the number of nominees does not exceed the number of available positions, an election will not be conducted by ballot, and nominations will not be accepted from the floor.

Director Responsibilities
The credit union's directors are volunteers, receiving no compensation for their service. They have the fiduciary responsibility to provide general direction and control of the credit union. A director must possess or acquire a working familiarity with basic finance and accounting practices, including the ability to read and understand the credit union's financial statements. Time requirements include monthly meetings, ongoing educational sessions, and other activities.
